"Escape from the crowd, and embrace the heights. "
A day trip to Imlil is the quintessential escape from the heat and hustle of Marrakech. Known as the "Little Chamonix" of Morocco, this charming mountain village sits at 1,740m and serves as the primary gateway to Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa.
The Experience
A scenic 90-minute drive south of Marrakech. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, many tours stop at the vibrant Tahanaout or Asni weekly markets to see how local Berbers trade livestock and produce.
You’ll trade dusty plains for lush green valleys filled with walnut and cherry groves, rushing mountain streams, and dramatic views of snow-capped peaks.
a guided 1.5 to 3-hour walk (or a mule ride) up to the picturesque village of Aroumd. This trek offers a front-row seat to the massive Toubkal massif.
The highlight for many is a traditional Berber lunch (often a slow-cooked lamb or vegetable tagine) served on a panoramic terrace in a local family's home or a mountain guesthouse.

"Ourika Valley: A Glimpse of the High Atlas Ourika Valley is a stunning natural escape located about 60 km south of Marrakech, nestled in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. Known for its lush greenery, red-rock landscapes, and the refreshing Ourika River that snakes through the valley, it offers a stark contrast to the bustling city life of Marrakech. The region is home to traditional Berber villages where life has remained unchanged for centuries, making it a perfect blend of natural beauty and authentic Moroccan culture."

"This is an ideal 7-night/8-day itinerary that starts and ends in Marrakech, taking you through the High Atlas Mountains to the golden dunes of Merzouga (Sahara Desert). This "Grand Loop" allows for a relaxed pace with plenty of time to explore hidden oases and ancient fortresses"
