"Experience an unforgettable 2-day Sahara escape from Agadir to the majestic dunes of Erg Chegaga. Travel through Berber towns, cross the dry Lake Iriqui, enjoy a magical sunset and sunrise in the desert, and spend the night under the stars in a traditional Sahara camp."
This 2-day adventure takes you deep into Morocco’s wild southern landscapes, combining history, culture, and the breathtaking beauty of the Sahara Desert.
Your journey begins with an early departure from Agadir in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle. The first stop is the historic town of Taroudant, often called “Little Marrakech,” where you will explore its impressive ramparts and traditional medina.
Continue toward Taliouine, famous for producing some of the finest saffron in the world. After passing through dramatic mountain scenery and enjoying a lunch break in Foum Zguid, your adventure truly begins.
From Foum Zguid, the paved road ends as you cross the vast dry bed of Lake Iriqui, once home to gazelles and wildlife. This off-road drive through desert plains offers stunning, untouched landscapes before reaching the towering golden dunes of Erg Chegaga — the largest and most remote dunes in Morocco.
Upon arrival at the desert camp, you will be welcomed with traditional Moroccan tea. After settling into your private tent, climb the dunes to witness a spectacular Sahara sunset. As night falls, enjoy a delicious local dinner served under the stars or inside your tent, followed by traditional music around the campfire. Overnight in a comfortable desert tent.
On Day 2, wake early to admire the magical desert sunrise as the dunes change colors with the first light of day. After breakfast, begin the return journey, crossing diverse landscapes from desert sands to the rocky Anti-Atlas Mountains.
Stop in the Berber village of Taznakht, known for its handmade carpets and weaving cooperatives (optional visit). Continue through Taliouine for lunch before heading back to Agadir, arriving in the late afternoon with unforgettable memories of your Sahara adventure.
